Younus Khan became the 12th Pakistani batsman to score two or more centuries against England in Test cricket.
The batsman achieved this feat by making an unbeaten 115 off 195 balls with 11 fours and one six on the second day of the third and final Test at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday (February 4).
Younus scored 173 off 285 balls with 22 fours at Leeds in 2006 which was his first century against England in Tests.
The other Pakistani batsmen to score two or more hundreds against England before Younus were Inzamam-ul-Haq (five hundreds in 32 innings of 19 Tests), Salim Malik (four hundreds in 28 innings of 19 Tests), Asif Iqbal (three hundreds in 22 innings of 15 Tests), Hanif Mohammed (three hundreds in 33 innings of 18 Tests), Javed Burki (three hundreds in 22 innings of 11 Tests), Mudassar Nazar (three hundreds in 26 innings of 18 Tests), Mushtaq Mohammed (three hundreds in 41 innings of 23 Tests), Haroon Rashid (two hundreds in 11 innings of seven Tests), Javed Miandad (two hundreds in 32 innings of 22 Tests), Mohsin Khan (two hundreds in 18 innings of 10 Tests) and Zaheer Abbas (two hundreds in 24 innings of 14 Tests).
Younus Khan also became the 13th Pakistan batsman to score 750 or more runs against England in Tests. He batted 18 innings of 10 Test matches to reach this milestone.
** Taufeeq Umar’s wicket was James Anderson’s 249 in 66 Test matches. This wicket took him clear of Matthew Hoggard and into sixth place in England’s all-time list of Test wicket-takers.
** Abdur Rehman recorded his second best bowling performance in Test by taking five for 40. His best bowling in an innings is six for 25 in the second innings of the second Test match at Abu Dhabi.
** Azhar Ali and Younus Khan added 194 runs for the unbroken third wicket stand. It was Pakistan’s second best stand for this wicket position against England. Mohammed Yousuf and Younis Khan who put on 363 runs at Leeds in 2006, holds the record of best third wicket stand for Pakistan against England.
