PIC brings in new chief

Dr Muhammad Javed took charge as the Medial Superintendent of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, saying he considers the post a challenge.
He said he wanted to turn PIC into a patient-friendly hospital and to bring it out of the recent crises. He stated that patients came from across the country to the hospital. He added that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was committed to bringing to justice the elements responsible for the spurious medicines.
He said: “PIC is reputed as a modern hospital, were high quality services are provided to patients. The hospitals’ image will be restored by fulfilling the expectations of the Punjab government, the health department and the people.”
Dr Javed stated that the hospitals’ employees must focus on providing better treatment facilities, discipline and elimination of corruption. He directed the DMS and AMS to personally supervise the treatments provided to patients and said the administrative doctors concerned would be responsible for any negligence in their departments. He also asked the hospital reception staff not to leave their posts until relived by the staff on duty on the next shift. Dr Javed urged the staff to work hard to restore PIC’s reputation and to make it the country’s best cardiac centre.
