Pakistan team secured eighth position amongst 10 nations in the FED Cup Women’s Tennis International Asia Oceana Group II event in Shenzen, China.
Pakistan played against Oman for the seventh to eighth play-off on Saturday and lost against Oman 2-1.
The first match was played between Ushna Suhail and Sarah Al Balushi which Ushna easily won 6-0, 6-0. She played superb tennis and won the match without conceding a single game to her opponent.
The second match was played by Saba Aziz against Fatma Al Nabhani, Oman’s woman circuit player. Saba lost the match by 6-0, 6-2.
The final deciding match was doubles played by Ushna Suhail and Sara Mansoor against Fatma Al Nabahani and Sarah Al Balushi. Oman won the doubles by 6-2 and 7(7)-6 and also won the play off fishing at number seven.
