The temperature dropped but to a pleasant degree in the provincial metropolis on Saturday as cool winds blew throughout the day. Many parts of the city witnessed slight rainfall during the evening. The citizens greeted the end of extreme cold wave and turned to recreational places as it was also a public holiday in the province.
According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather conditions were likely to continue in the city on Sunday as well. The Meteorological Department predicted that partly cloudy weather would persist in the city for the next 24 hours, with chances of rain. The new weather system entered the country a few days ago through its western borders and it has affected the weather conditions in Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir Division. According to the weather report, widespread rain with snowfall over the hills was expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Zhob division,Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Saturday night, while scattered rain and snow was likely in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, GilgitBaltistan and Kashmir on Sunday.
