The incidence of cancer among the country’s population needs to be controlled within the meagre resources available. This was stated by the participants of the 4th National Surgical Oncology Conference, organised on Saturday by the Surgical Oncology Society of Pakistan to mark the World Cancer Day.
The event was organised by Society President Prof Dr Arshad Cheema and General Secretary Prof Zafarullah Chaudhry among others. The society is also holding a cancer awareness walk today at the Jinnah Hospital. Dr Aijaz Ahsan was the chief guest at the occasion, while various cancer experts attended the conference. The participants highlighted the various types of cancer prevalent among the country’s population and the measures necessary to prevent them.
