2 police constables killed in Naseerabad landmine explosion

Two police constables were killed and a passerby was injured in a landmine explosion in Naseerabad district on Saturday while three rockets were fired in Quetta The banned Baloch Republican Army claimed the responsibility.

Naseerabad District Police Officer Abdul Hayee Baloch said two policemen identified as Hamid and Gulsher were on patrol duty on a motorcycle in Manjoti area, around 20 kilometres from Dera Murad Jamali when their bike hit a landmine, causing a huge blast. As a result, both policemen were killed and their motorcycle was blown into pieces. A passerby identified as Muhammad Ali received injuries. The injured and dead were moved to a nearby hospital. Police rushed to the site after the blast and cordoned off the area.

Meanwhile, unidentified men fired three rockets on the night between Friday and Saturday on the direction of cantonment in Quetta. However, all projectiles landed in the open and exploded without causing any damage. Police said the rockets
were fired from undisclosed locations which were landed in Killi Nichari, Spinny Road and Kill Arbab with explosions one
after the other.

  1. I agree to what Awais is saying. The making and usage of such improvised explosive devises must be curtailed.

  2. Even after the war is over, a lot will follow. Pakistan and Afghanistan, both would have to work in cooperation with each other. Both countries would have to work to eliminate IEDs, similar to the post Afghan war scenario, when mines were eliminated to minimize human casualties.

  3. Landmines and IEDs are equally harmful and destructive. It’s an open secret that US banned aid to Pakistan because of this IED issue, so if Pakistan needs the aid then it would have to do something about the IED issue.
