Pak-Afghan friendly relationship need of hour: Sherpao

PPP (Sherpao) chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said on Saturday that friendly relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan was vital for the prosperity and tranquility of the region.
He underlined the need for removing all bottlenecks between the two brotherly states so as to further strengthen their ties.
He said this while talking to Afghan Consul-General at Peshawar, Sayed Mohammad Ebrahimkhel who called on him.
They discussed the matters relating to the bilateral interests of both countries.
Aftab Sherpao said the good working relationship between the two states was the need of the hour, therefore, every effort should be made to remove all misgivings. About the recent visit of Pakistani foreign minister, Sherpao said that all issues should be addressed through concerted efforts that would pave the way for durable peace in the region.
He termed the President Karzai’s visit to Pakistan as good omen, saying that it would bring both brethren countries closer to each other. He also underlined the need for holding tripartite meeting to review the situation and chalk out future line of action.
He demanded the exchange of the prisoners of Pakistan and Afghanistan. He also demanded the removal of hindrances in Afghan Transit trade and increase in the seats for the Afghan scholars in Pakistani institutions. He said that parliamentary and civil societies should play their role for strengthening the ties by developing constituencies in both countries.
