Zardari regularises three SHC judges

President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday confirmed the services of three additional judges of the Sindh High Court. The judges include Justice Muhammad Tasnim, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said the president also confirmed Justice Nisar Muhammad Sheikh for extension for another year as an additional judge of the Sindh High Court. The nominations for the confirmation of the additional judges of the Sindh High Court were earlier approved by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan and unanimously agreed upon by the parliamentary committee on the appointment of judges.
The president approved the confirmation on the advice of the prime minister. Meanwhile, President Zardari also confirmed the instrument of ratification of the agreement on economic, scientific and technical cooperation between Pakistan and Romania.
The agreement between the two countries was signed on September 12 last year followed by the cabinet decision to ratify the same.
The president on the advice of the prime minister affixed his signature and seal confirming that the government had ratified the articles of the agreement.
The president also gave assent to the Carriage by Air Bill 2012.
The bill was first passed by the National Assembly on May 11, 2011. The Senate passed it on October 28, 2011 with amendment and returned it to the assembly under Clause-2 of Article 70.
The National Assembly in pursuance of Article 70 of the constitution again passed the bill as amended by the Senate on December 30, 2011. The bill seeks to give effect in Pakistan to the conventions concerning international carriage by air known as the Montreal Convention.
The president signed the bill on the advice of the prime minister.
