Who will win the Model Town Society elections this year?

Election campaign is in full swing at the Model Town Society (MTS), as two groups are face-to-face with each other for elections on February 26, which are expected to be unpredictable, Pakistan Today has learnt. Banners have been placed at prominent areas of the society, including the main Model Town Roundabout, as candidates geared up for the big day. Two main groups were registered for election, including the Model Town Unity Group and Model Town Group. From the Model Town Unity Group, Rana Ahmed Mateen was running for president while Major (r) Mushtaq Dhillon was running for vice-president. From the Model Town Group, Saifur Rehman was running for president and Daud Bari for vice-president. Around 45 candidates would compete for 22 seats. Around 20 candidates would be elected for managerial seats from 10 blocks with two from each block while the management would be headed by the elected president and vice-president. All candidates had submitted their nomination papers for scrutiny, which was still underway. According to sources, Bari looked to be in hot waters, as there was a chance of him being disqualified. Sources said that during scrutiny, it was revealed that Bari had supplied furniture to the MTS and according to the society’s by-laws, a beneficiary of the society could not run for election. Source said that Bari, who had no covering candidate, claimed that the furniture company was owned by his son. Sources also revealed that the election was actually a fight between former Lahore nazim Mian Aamir Mehmood’s party with the rest of Model Town. The Model Town Group, which was affiliated with Aamir, had rearranged its candidates and was ready for the election with the former nazim’s support, who had great influence in the society.

Saif Rehman Khan is the most competent person for the president of Model town society very closely connected near and dear not only to residents of model town but also its vicinity, a born native of this town knows families and their needs always approachable by all and ready to help solve their problems. We need such honest and bold young men not only at local level but also at notional level.
    I Remember during a terrorist attacked about eight years ago in C block when lot of innocent people got killed when saying their jowma prayer , Saif was the Nazim of Model town he was the most active visible young man helping and sharing their grief and Coporated with them to make necessary arrangements for the burial of deceseds
    That was noble and a humanitarian gestur we experienced on his behalf
    .

      • I saw him also there with all his guards when a bomb was blasted by terrorists in K block at the back side of Dr. Israr ' s mosque where couple of people's died and damaged to near by property was enormous. He and one of his friend Iftkhar along with others pulling dead body and injured from rubles and puting them in ambulance it was early in the morning, it was like a qumat burpa and I was amazed and stunned at the bravery of them.
        I could not see any notable personality at that time of distress when people needs help and consolation , I could not find any Rana, Surdar, Nowab at that time of crisis they were having sound asleep at that morning. It is mentionable here that some of the influentional people used to rent their house To investigating agency which worked like a time bomb among the family residents of Model town which caused loss of life and property as they were the main target of militant, with the efforts of Amer Mahmood and Saif those agency was removed

Saif khan is a suitable candidate for this job but I personally feel he should be elvated to a higher job like national or provincial assembly the way I see him devoted to serv the people , he has the talent to Serv the national cause rather wasting this talent in a dirt streets of local nasty politics .
    I do appreciate the way he is taking care of the residents and available , me and my family support to you thank you again u helped us against a qubza group who was grabbing our hard earned property when we were abroad.

Very true I saw myself investigating agency office in main E block near the house of Amer Mahmood former Mayer of Lahore that scared me to death the lives of the whole nearby residents were at risk it is no more there after the tragedy of K Block it was removed or vacated . We appreciated the efforts undertaken by Amer and Saif.
    These are sincer , resourceful and useful for the community.
    Please patronize them do not loose them.
