Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said law enforcement agencies were busy in investigating the murder of the wife and daughter of Balochistan MPA Mir Bakhtiar Domki from various angles, adding that a third party might have committed the crime to create law and order in the province.
Speaking in the Senate, Malik called the killings a very sensitive issue as the incident could be given a political touch. He said a committee comprising two MPAs from Balochistan and Sindh assemblies each had been formed to probe into the matter.
The family of the Balochistan MPA was shot dead near Gizri flyover early on Tuesday. The deceased were also the sister and niece of Baloch Republican Party (BRP) leader Baramdagh Bugti.
Malik told the House that the accused in the PIC deaths had been put on the ECL.
Senator Professor Ibrahim Khan announced boycotting the entire session in protest of the chairman’s not fixing a time to debate the adjournment motion submitted by him.
Senator Professor Khurshid was critical of the statement of US President Barack Obama about continuation of drone attacks. He also criticised the government as he believed that someone from its quarters leaked the parliamentary recommendations on national security to the US ambassador in Pakistan.
On a point of order, Senator Qari Abdullah asked the government to stand by Iran in the wake of Israel threat to its nuclear sites.
Senator Tahir Mashhadi observed that the government was fleecing the public by increasing petroleum prices. He called it “bhatta” from the poor of the country.
Senator Zahid Khan also endorsed his point of view and asked the government to revert the petroleum prices.
The First Quarterly Report for the year 2011-12 of the central board of directors of the State Bank of Pakistan was presented in the House.

  1. I do not think Rehman Baba and his team has the ability to solve any high profile murder. What about Benazir Murder case.
