Senior Civil Judge Shahrukh Anjumand on Friday granted another four days physical remand of prime minister’s ex-media coordinator Khurram Rasool to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over his alleged involvement in a fraud case.
On January 26th, the FIA had registered a case against Khurram in a cheque dishonor case and defrauding under Sections 481 and 420 on complaint of Sohail Rabbani. In his complaint, Rabbani submitted that Khurram Rasool had got a fake account opened in the name of Trading Corporation Pakistan (TCP) and he had given 71 million to Khurram for getting sugar quota. “But he (Khurram) could not allocate sugar quota for me due to which Khurram gave me a fake cheque of Rs 71 million,” he stated in his application.
However, the FIA on Friday presented fake letters of TCP account and the record of dishonored cheques before the court and requested the court to further extend his remand.
