The Punjab government’s revolutionary programme of distribution of laptops among talented students will leave a far-reaching impact on the education sector and besides acquiring modern knowledge, students will also be able to do research in a better manner, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday. He was talking to MPAs from various districts at the Sharif family farmhouse at Raiwind. Shahbaz said that the project will be executed in a transparent manner in accordance with the Punjab government’s policy and 300,000 laptops will be distributed next year. He said that the younger generation was the guarantee to a glorious future of Pakistan and the country could be put on the road to progress and development through imparting modern education to the youth. Shahbaz said that unprecedented steps had been taken for uplift of the education sector.
Shahbaz said that all out resources were being utilised for the province’s development and provision of basic amenities to the masses while special attention was being paid to the uplift of backward areas. He said that a transparent utilisation of every penny of public money was ensured. Shahbaz said that the energy crisis was leaving a negative impact on the economy and unemployment and price-hike had made the lives of the people miserable. He said that there was a need to adopt the virtues of honesty and hard work for regaining the lost status of the country and develop indigenous resources to get rid of charity of others. Shahbaz said that no nation could progress with foreign assistance but through development of local resources and by adopting austerity. He urged MPAs to ensure timely and transparent completion of development projects for the benefit of the masses.
