An anti-terrorism court (ATC) sentenced five men to 25 years’ imprisonment on Tuesday in a kidnapping for ransom case. ATC Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso was conducting the hearing. The special prosecutor said the five accused men – Muhammad Ibrahim, Muhammad Saeed, Ameer Bux, Najafuddin and Muhammad Shahid – kidnapped four men for ransom from the jurisdiction of the Sachal police station. A case was registered against them under Section 365-A. The five accused men were identified during an identification parade held before a magistrate. Besides sentencing the five men to jail, the judge also ordered police to take their properties into custody.
