BA demands arrest of killers of MPA’s wife

The Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday strongly condemned the targeted killing of the wife, daughter and driver of MPA Sardarzada Bakhtiar Khan Domki in Karachi by unidentified men and demanded the federal and Sindh governments immediately arrest the culprits. The assembly session started 45 minutes later the schedule with speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani in the chair. Speaking on a point of order soon after the recitation of the Holy Quran, Minister for S&GAD and Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Sardar Sanaullah Zehri condemned the brutal murder of Domki’s relatives and driver in Karachi on Monday, calling it a cowardly act. He asked the Sindh and federal governments for taking serious steps to investigate the murders.
PML-Q MPA Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel also condemned the brutal murder and urged the federal and Sindh governments, Sindh governor, chief minister and home minister to ensure the arrest of killers. Minister for Irrigation Sardar Aslam Bizenjo said women enjoyed special respect in Baloch society and the act was a height of the cruelty. Nasreen Khetran said not a single person was arrested in incidents of targeted killings of politicians and other citizens.
Minister for WASA Mir Habibur Rehman Muhammad Hasni said illegal weapons were being displayed by gangs in Karachi despite the imposition of Section 144 in the city. Minister for Industries and Balochistan National Party-Awami leader Syed Ahsan Shah said attacking women and children was not part of Baloch traditions, as women enjoyed a respectable status in Baloch society. Minister for Labour and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F leader Maulvi Sarwar Musakhail strongly criticised the Sinch inspector general of police for calling the murder a result of enmity and stressed upon the Sindh government to take stern action against culprits.
Provincial ministers Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost, Mir Nasir Jamali, Mir Shahnawaz Marri, Capt (r) Abdul Khaliq, Basant Lal Gulshan and Mir Amanullah Notezai and MPA Ghulam Jan Baloch also condemned the killing of Domki’e relatives and demanded the Sindh government probe into the incident. The House also converted an adjournment motion tabled by Jaffar Khan Mandokhel into a joint resolution asking the provincial government to approach the federal government for ending load shedding in the province and restoration of subsidy on agriculture tube-wells.
Initiating debate on the motion, he said, “Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani promised thrice that the subsidy would be restored but the notification in this connection is yet to be issued.” Provincial Minister Mir Shah Nawaz Marri reiterated the point. Other ministers, including Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost, Ismail Gujjar and Habibur Rehman Mohammad Hassani said Balochistan needed approximately 1,400MWs of electricity, while it was getting only 717MWs. They said that Balochistan itself was producing about 2,000MWs but it was being deprived from power that had cast a negative impact on its agriculture. The House was later adjourned until February 3.

  1. I doubt that any Baloch carried this out. This is not the code that they follow. This was strickly urban based terrorism.
