Army, Bank Alfalah leave rivals high and dry in polo

Pak Army/NADRA and Bank Alfalah left their rivals high and dry in their matches of Caanchi and Lugari Polo Cup on day two here at the Lahore Polo Club on Tuesday. Pak Army/NADRA added nine goals against Strike who having two and a half advantage failed to meet the pace provided by James Harper and Ahmed Zubair Butt while Bank Alfalah, who entered the field as underdogs and stunned Hataff Security.
The combined team Pak Army/NADRA got their nine goals through Capt. Faizan Tasadduq, James Harper and Ahmed Zubair Butt with the latter two sharing four goals each. The losing team Strike, which had two-and-a-half a handicap managed three goals when Omar Asjad Malhi, Sameer Habib Oberoi and Mian Hussain Iftikhar found their hits counted for the goals. Bank Alfalah despite half a goal advantage prevailed over Hataff Security by scoring five goals and disallowing even a single stride into their danger zone.
Naveed M Sheikh and Raul Laplacette got two goals each while Waseem Sial closed the match with the fifth for the bankers.
Umpires and referees for the matches were Santiago Mendivil, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Vieri Antinori, Raja Temur Nadeem, Gaston Moore and James Harper.
