At least 14 FC personnel were killed and several others sustained injuries in rockets attack on four security check posts, here late Tuesday night.
According to sources, armed assailants attacked four check posts of FC in Marwar area located between Quetta and Bolan districts.
The check posts, namely Sadiq, Faiz, Farman and Khursheed, came under rocket attacks followed by indiscriminate firing with automated weapons.
At least 14 FC soldiers were killed in the attack and several others sustained injuries, FC sources confirmed.
They said more than a dozen attackers holed up on a linking road, blocking the supply route for the trapped security men.
The FC men triggered retaliation and two gunship choppers also reached the scene to assist in the operation.
Fierce clashes between security forces and extremists took place for some time but the attackers managed to escape unhurt.
