British media criticises Saeed Ajmal’s bowling action

After Saeed Ajmal spun England out on first day of Test match between Pakistan and England by taking 7 wickets, British media has started criticising his bowling action.
Replying to the criticism, Saeed Ajmal said that allegations have been put on his action in the past but ICC has cleared his bowling action.
“Does it trouble me that someone in England questions my action? It’s no problem. Such questions were raised against Saqlain Mushtaq as well and he played county cricket for years with no problem about his action.”
Ajmal was cleared by the International Cricket Council in May 2009 but his action drew stinging criticism from former England captain Bob Willis today.
Ajmal maintained: “I’m concentrating on my bowling and it’s the umpires’ and referees’ responsibility to judge my action.
Willis believes, however, that the ICC could be stricter on ‘mystery spinners’ like Ajmal – and if they do not, England should teach their own young bowlers to develop similar weapons.
“The only bowler that is threatening England now is Saeed Ajmal. The teesra [Ajmal’s third type of delivery] has a round arm [action] and that doesn’t seem to be a threat but the doosra is the delivery that the batsmen are all struggling with,” said Willis while talking to a sports channel.

  18. Bob Willis is a racist bastard. English media have always plotted Pakistan’s downfall, like the entrapment of our idiot cricketers by NOTW last year that led to their conviction for match fixing.

  40. England will do that- we knew it from the beginning of the series, this is British media a**hole. It is the Pakistan who gave world cricket a lot, doosra , reverse swing, Waism Akram, Waqar Younis, Ameer a lot simply a lot. If they wanna teach their young kids- try – go for it !!   42. Remember this next time English and Aussies or South Africans run through the Pakistani side. Don't put down your own batsmen for lack of technique, too old, etc etc. Accuse the opposition of illegal action, doctored pitches, doctored ball, etc. etc. Fight fire with fire.

  43. English bowlers dont bowl doosras because they are raised in a country where the coaches believe cheating disrepects the game. Thats what the phrase 'It simply isnt cricket' means.
