Muhammad Shabbir of Islamabad won the 31st CAS Open Golf Championship that concluded here at the Airmen Golf Course, PAF Base Korangi Creek, Karachi. Matloob Ahmed and Nadeem Inayat secured the second and third places in the professional category respectively. The prize distribution was held at the same venue and Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff Pakistan Air Force, was the chief guest on the occasion and also awarded trophies and prizes to the winners. The championship that commenced on January 26, featured more than 300 leading golfers from all over the country. The various categories of players, participating in the championship included professionals, amateurs, veterans and senior/junior professional and ladies. The championship continued for four consecutive days and 18 holes were played each day. Chief of the Air Staff Open Golf Championship was introduced in 1977 and ever since it has been an annual feature in PGF and PAF annual sports calendars.
