The police and Rangers conducted joint search operations in different localities of the city on Tuesday and arrested seven suspects, also recovering arms from their possession.
According to details, in the backdrop of recent incidents of target killing and firing incidents, the police and Rangers conducted joint search operation in Liaquatabad, Qasba Colony area of Orangi Town, Bukhari Colony, Muhajid Colony, Ali Garrh Colony, Ranchor Line, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Malir.
The security forces sealed the entrances and exits of the said areas and conducted door-to-door search operations.
Heavy contingent of police and Rangers, assisted by armoured carriers, took part in the search operation. The operation initiated on Monday-Tuesday midnight continued for more than seven hours.
The security forces checked the CNICs, and other documents of the dwellers during the search operations.
At least seven suspects who failed to clarify their credentials were taken into custody.
The security forces also recovered arms including pistols, rifles and bullets from their custody.
Separate cases have been registered against detained suspects at concerned police stations and investigations were in progress.
