Pakistan and Iran share brotherly relations, which will strengthen with each passing day, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Tuesday. He was addressing a dinner hosted by the Iranian consul general in honour of Peshawar journalists at the Iranian Consulate. Iranian Consular General Darvesh Vand, Peshawar Press Club President Saiful Islam Saifi and Khyber Union of Journalists President Arshad Aziz Malik also spoke on the occasion. The minister said that despite the eight-year long Iran-Iraq War and international sanctions, Iran’s rapid development was the best example for all Islamic countries. He said that only the system having the capacity to guarantee rights to all without any gender discrimination and provide equal opportunities of progress became successful.
Iftikhar, referring to his recent Iranian visit, said that he found Iran beyond his expectations. He said that it was his utmost desire to develop Pakistan such as Iran. In order to give practical shape to the MoUs and agreements signed during his Iranian visit, a high-powered committee had been formed under his chair to finalise its future course of action after meeting Iranian delegates, who would visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the near future, Iftikhar said.
