University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Pasha on Monday said that livestock farming is a source of livelihood for the small farmer the university was economically and socially engaging. He was speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day workshop on livestock extension services on Monday at the Syndicate Room. The workshop was organised by the Agriculture Support Linkages Programme (ASLP) in collaboration with Charles Sturt University (CSU) and UVAS.
Pasha said that the workshop would provide extension training for livestock improvement and enhance milk and meat potential across the country. He explained that university scientists and scholars could improve the quality of farming by making food and feed calendars, organising milk competitions and launching social media campaigns to lure the farming community so they could adopt the latest trends in livestock farming.
