Blast in Lyari injures three ‘gamblers’

Three people were wounded in a “cracker” blast at a tea shop next to a small gambling den in Lyari’s Bihar Colony on Monday night. According to reports received, two motorcyclists chucked an explosive device on a group of people sitting at a tea shop named Quetta Chaman Hotel located on the Tannery Road in Bihar Colony.
Chakiwara Station House Officer Chaudhry Aslam Gujjar said the explosive device was most probably a cracker, but the possibility of it being a hand grenade could not be ruled out. Gujjar said three people were injured in the attack and they were immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi.
He said the injured were identified as 45-year-old Ajmal Nasrullah, 50-year-old Abdul Ghaffar Hashim and 35-year-old Asim Muhammad Yousaf. The wounded men are said to be professional gamblers and the condition of all three of them is stable, he added.
