The alumni of the American government-sponsored educational exchange programmes, informed more than 200 of their peers about the experience at a ceremony held on Tuesday at the National Library. Embassy Strategic Communications Director Tom Miller encouraged the students to broaden their horizons and to take advantage of the exchange programmes in order to be “ambassadors of Pakistan”. A panel of six young Pakistanis who had participated in the programme shared their experiences of living and studying in the US. “Americans are just like us,” remarked one panel member, emphasising the warm hospitality he experienced during his stay. The six alumni who sat on the panel have recently returned from studying for a semester at universities such as the Kansas State University and Nazareth College of Rochester.
