‘My health matters’ at IoBM

The CBM Society of Health Managers (CSHM), Institute of Business Management (IoBM), organised its Annual Health and Business Psychology Conference (Health PsyCon) followed by a two-day health assessment camp titled: “My health matters” at the campus of the institute, the IoBM Public Affairs Section said in a statement issued on Monday. Speaking at the conference, Sindh Youth Affairs Minister Faisal Ali Subzwari appreciated the efforts of the IoBM Health and Hospital Management students for planning and organising an exemplary and purposeful event. The health camp focused on delivery of awareness and consultation to the youth and executives, upon multiple aspects of their health related issues, through a mixture of fun and activity.
It also aimed providing recruitment and selection opportunities of the shining health managers to the corporate world. It was well-attended by CEOs, directors, managers, doctors and health care professionals from hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, private and the public sector. A large number of regular and weekend students, regular and visiting faculty and administrative staff of the IoBM attended the camp for information and for health assessment. The stall genre of this camp comprised CNS, health care consumer products, fitness, dermatology, female health, dental, ophthalmology, musculoskeletal, liver health, screening, blood screening, hospital care, oncology etc.
What made the health camp different was that it was a harmonious blend of both medical assessment at these facilities and medical advice or counseling in a congenial manner. Health PsyCon, which was organised at the Management Excellence Centre of the institute, was attended by health and hospital management students and faculty, participated by academicians, doctors, psychologists, health managers. Sindh Health Secretary Hashim Raza Zaidi addressed the audience on the occasion.
Raza said besides medicine, aspects of health including those pertaining to psychology and the social sector and the need for continuous learning and training remain of paramount significance.
“The Sindh Health Department is actively pursuing 17 projects for which we need refresher programmes for doctors and training in management and look forward to the support of IoBM in this regard,” he added. IoBM Rector Talib Karim, while briefing about the institute, especially its specialised, market-focused and accredited Health and Hospital Management Programme, said the IoBM would extend full support and cooperation as regards training of its doctors and management.
