Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Javaid Hashmi said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government will end injustice in the country and would expose those who had robbed the country of its wealth.
“I am the one who taught the A-B-C of politics to those who are ruling Lahore,” said Hashmi, adding “I have never wanted any ministries and those who are leading the nation astray should realise that the nation has risen”.
He said Pakistan People’s Party, PML-N and all the other political parties could not defeat PTI. He was addressing a procession that was held in front of Data Darbar on the occasion of his first visit to Lahore after separation from PML-N. A large number of people were present on this occasion while PTI local office bearers including PTI Information Coordinator Ishtiaq Malik, Asgher Gujjar, Malik Karamat Ali Khokher, ISF General Secretary Waqas Iftikhar and others were also present. People showered petals on Hashmi and shouted slogans in his favor.
Hashmi said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had endangered the judiciary while they were developing relations with robbers and thieves. He said it was a tragedy that those who had robbed the country were now ruling it while the poor were dying of hunger and were searching for food, for jobs and for electricity and gas.
“I refuse to accept such people as my leaders,” Hashmi said, adding that PTI Chairman Imran Khan was the only one who could bring a revolution in the country and the youth supported him. He said the time had come for the future of the youth to change and for a new Pakistan to emerge. He said it was shameful that America was carrying out drone attacks and shrines of Sufis such as Data Sahib were being targeted but the rulers were silent and were not doing anything. He said Khan was the only politician who did not have accounts abroad, adding that he was grateful to Lahoris who had welcomed him so enthusiastically.
Hashmi started his journey from Multan on Sunday morning where thousands of ISF activists, under the supervision of their president, accompanied him. ISF activist from various districts and education institutions especially joined Hashmi from other districts also. They were carrying posters of Hashmi and Khan and had also decorated their faces with flags of PTI.
Special arrangements were made by PTI office bearers from Multan to Lahore and roads were decorated with the pictures of Hashmi that read ‘Baghi aa rha hay’. ISF activists had also arranged army bands to pay a tribute to Hashmi while birds were also released on this occasion.
On his arrival at Lahore a large number of people were present at Thokar Niaz Baig while Lahore PTI ISF President Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid welcomed Hashmi on this occasion while other office bearers including PTI Women Wing President Syeda Saloni Bukhari was also present on this occasion. The police had made poor security arrangements which were widely criticised by the participants of the rally, who said it showed the biased attitude of the Punjab government. Hashmi was set to arrive at 12pm, however, his procession, to the utter discomfort of the participants, reached Lahore at 8:45pm. Munir Ahmad, a participant, said so much money should not have been spent on advertisement and the money could have been used for a constructive purpose.
