Four persons were murdered by different men in four different areas of the city on Sunday.
A 40-year-old man was shot dead by a local tough in Subzazar area. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Yaseen, a resident of Saidpur. Police said the accused Yaseen Khan used to harass the locals of his area. He forcefully entered the house of the victim almost three months back and tortured his wife. The victim filed a complaint with the police and Khan had nursed grudge against him since then. A 20-year-old youth was shot dead by his colleague in a departmental store in Sattukatla. The deceased identified as Azhar Shah, a resident of Kunganpur Kasur, served as a salesman in a departmental store near Wapda Town Rehmat Chowk. Police said that the accused Waqas got infuriated while talking to the victim Azhar, snatched a gun from the security guard and shot Azhar dead. North Cantt police recovered the body of a sixteen-year-old boy from its limits. Some locals spotted the body lying in a hole and informed the police. Police suspected that some unidentified persons had murdered the boy somewhere else and later thrown his body in Old Officer Colony North Cantt.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was shot dead by some unidentified persons in Shahdara area. Police conducted thorough search of the body and recovered nothing that could be helpful in identifying the deceased.
SPEEDING VEHICLES KILL TWO: A youth was killed while his friend received injuries when a speeding tractor ran over them in Shadbagh area on Sunday. Police said the two friends Kashif, 18, and Jamshed, 20, were on their way on a bike when a recklessly driven tractor hit them, as a result of which both sustained serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital where Kashif was pronounced dead. Later, the family members and relatives of Kashif blocked the Ring Road and burnt tyres in protest. Meanwhile, a seventeen-year-old youth was killed by a speeding car in Mozang area. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Zafar. Police said that the boy was crossing a road when a rashly driven car ran over him, resulting into his death.
