The CCPO claimed that five kidnappers had abducted Feroze along with his car (LEJ/2061) and headed towards Islamabad on the motorway. He said that due to timely cooperation by security agencies and a motorway police officer, the police rounded up the vehicle near Salt Range Interchange, however the accused manage to escape from the scene.
The CCPO said that the police had used latest technology and tracking system during the 14-hour operation of recovering Feroze.
Umer Rasheed, a friend of the kidnapped person, complained that the vehicle tracking company had mislead them during the operation as they deliberately lied to them by saying that the car carrying the kidnapped person was jammed.
Answering a query regarding the recovery of American national Dr Warren Weinstein and Shahbaz Taseer, the CCPO said that at the time of the abduction of the said men, the Lahore Police did not have the latest technology. Therefore, the kidnappers managed to take the abducted persons out of the city.
