Three people lost their lives due to the suspected drug reaction that pushed the death toll to 109 on Saturday.
The uncontrolled deadly reaction was caused by cardiac medicines provided to patients in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) some three weeks ago, claiming 109 lives and destabilising health of hundreds of patients.
By taking preventive measures, the institution is now providing alternate medicines to heart patients registered with the hospital.
Patients were seen standing in long queues for hours to return old contaminated drugs and get new ones from the PIC.
There are at least 400 patients under treatment in various hospitals of Lahore out of which 50 are in serious condition.
