RPOs meeting reviews police performance

A conference of the regional police officers (RPOs) was held at the Punjab Police Headquarters on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Iqbal.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir, RPOs from Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Shiekhupura, Bahawalpur and the Punjab Operations deputy inspector general (DIG) attended the meeting.
The Punjab IGP urged the officers to focus on controlling crime and adopt organised measures to protect the lives and properties of the public. He further directed the RPOs to prepare an effective strategy and implement it in letter and spirit to eliminate terrorism and improve the law and order situation in the province.
The Lahore CCPO and all RPOs briefed the IGP about the cases of kidnapping for ransom, robbery and dacoity-cum-murder registered in their regions and the arrests, prosecution and conviction of the proclaimed offenders.
