Five shops gutted in Multan grain market

Fire, caused by an electric short-circuit, gutted five shops in the grains market here late Thursday night.
According to rescue sources, the fire erupted in a shop located in the grains market of Multan at late night. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the surrounding shops.
Soon after Rescue 1122 and fire brigades reached the scene and brought the fire under control within an hour.
Meanwhile, five shops were gutted completely, causing a loss of Rs 1.5 million, according to the owners.
The victim shopkeepers held WAPDA responsible for the fire incident saying that cutting and restoring power supply after every ten minutes often results in short circuits ,rendering huge losses to appliances and properties.
