AIOU opens admissions from Matric to MA/MSc

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has started its admissions for the Semester Spring, 2012 from Matriculation to MA/M.Sc level programmes and sent computerised admission forms to all the continuing students across the country, this was announced by Director Admissions Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain.
Naqvi said admission forms and prospectuses for all programmes offered in Spring 2012 semester could be obtained from the sale points at the main campus, regional campuses and coordinating offices all over the country.
According to the director admissions, MSc in Mass Communication, Environmental Design, Mathematics, Sociology, Physics, Statistics, Chemistry and Forestry Extension were being offered. Admission to MBA, M.Com, 4-year BS programmes in Microbiology and Chemistry, Commonwealth of Learning NBA/MPA, MA in Distance & Non-Formal Education, Secondary Teachers’ Education, Educational Planning & Management, Special Education, Library & Information Sciences and Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), MEd in Distance, Non-Formal and Continuing Education, Secondary Teachers’ Education, Science Education and Special Education were also being offered.
According to him, in the postgraduate diploma, Environmental Design, Educational Planning and Management, Mass Communication, Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Computer Science and Youth in Development Work are included. In bachelor programmes, BA, B.Com, BLIS and Mass Communication are being offered. In Teachers’ Training Programme, ATTC and PTC are also being offered.
The admissions to FA, I.Com, FSc (Pre-Engineering), FSc (Pre-Medical), Matric, Dars-e-Nizami, certificate courses (six-month duration), agricultural courses (six-month duration), open tech courses and short-terms educational programmes are also being offered in the Semester Spring 2012.
Director Admissions Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain said that admission forms were being sent to the continuing students, however, if any student failed to receive the admission form till 30th January, 2012, he/she could download the same from the AIOU website www.aiou.edu.pk or obtain it from the nearest regional/coordination office of the university and deposit the same in any designated bank branch by putting roll/registration numbers and mobile numbers with fee till due date to avoid late fee charges.
