Police busts four gangs

The police claimed to have busted four criminal gangs involved in street crimes, robberies and robbery-cum-murders and recovered automatic firearms, stanched motor vehicles, gold ornaments and other valuables form their possession in the Model Town Police Station precincts on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, Operations chief Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said that a proclaimed offender, namely Yaqoob Boka was arrested and Chaand, Sabi and Haseeba Kamboh gangs were busted.
The DIG said that a special police team raided a hideout in Sadhoki Kahna, where Yaqooba Boka had hidden himself. On seeing police team, Boka opened fire on the police personnel. However, the police retaliated and managed to apprehend the criminal.
The three-member Chaand and four-member Haseeba Kamboh gangs were busted in the Ichra Police Station precincts, while five-member Sabi gang was busted in the Liaqatabad Police Station precincts.
He said that the police have recovered mobile phones, batteries, computers, electronics, motorbikes, automatic sophisticated firearms and other stolen/snatched valuables form their possession.
FIRE: Four people sustained multiple burn injuries in separate incidents on Wednesday.
According to sources, 30-year-old Muhammad Fiaz and his wife Shahida sustained critical injuries at their house in Jhugian Nagraan, Nawankot. The fire was caught due to gas leakage from stove. The couple were taken to the Mayo Hospital Burn Unit, where their condition was said to be critical.
Meanwhile, two labourers at Rafiq Steel Mill, Nazeer and Muhammad Hussain, sustained multiple burn injuries when fire broke out in the factory in Baghbanpura due to short circuiting. They were taken to the Mayo Hospital, where their condition was said to be stable.
MYSTERIOUS DEATH: A 30-year-old man died mysteriously in Mozang Police Station precincts on Wednesday. According to Police, Din Muhammad, a resident of Mozang Adda, had eaten poisonous food and was taken to a nearby hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.
His body was handed over to his family, who refused to initiate legal action against anyone.
