Margalla police on Wednesday arrested the main accused, allegedly involved in the killing of two women, at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
On January 14, the attackers came to kill an under-trial prisoner, Rana Sarwat, who was admitted to room No 8 of the VIP ward after being shot and injured on the premises of the district courts on December 13. However, they misjudged the under-trial prisoner’s location and fired at room No 9, killing two patients, Saleha Bibi and her daughter, Bilquis Bibi.
During the firing an attendant of a patient, Qamrunnisa, also received bullet injuries. Later, Margalla police registered an FIR against unidentified killers. Sub Inspector Abdus Sattar Baig, who is investigating the case, told Pakistan Today that the main accused involved in the firing episode, Mujahid alias Seath, had been arrested. He added raids were being conducted for the arrest of the other accused, Baig added.
