Saima Mahmood, a Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) PhD, has won the prestigious European Award for outstanding doctoral research from the European Foundation for Management Development in the Human Resource Management category.
Her research was supervised by Dr Asad Zaman, professor of economics at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, said a press release issued by the Higher Education Commission.
In her PhD dissertation, Saima carried out a path-breaking research on efficiency wages and non-monetary motivational strategies using the tools of ‘experimental economics’, an emerging field in economics that is rapidly gaining a wide currency.
