A man stabbed his wife to death over the pretext of saving ‘honour’ in Sector 5/E of Landhi No 6 on Wednesday. Landhi police station SHO Muzzaffar Iqbal Awan told Pakistan Today that neighbours informed the police when they heard somebody shouting at the residence of 35-year-old Sabir Hussain.
When the police entered the house, they saw Hussain’s wife, 32-year-old Khair-un-Nisa, in a pool of blood.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem where doctors said the woman was killed using a sharp knife. The victim’s husband escaped from the spot but was later arrested by the police. “The arrested man has confessed to his crime and said that he killed his wife to protect his honour,” the SHO said. The police have registered FIR No 16/12 under Section 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father, Munna Bhai.
