The Islamabad High Court (IHC) lawyers announced on Wednesday that they will observe a complete strike on Thursday against the killing of lawyers in Karachi.
Three lawyers were killed on Wednesday when unidentified armed men opened fire on their car near the Aram Bagh area of Karachi. A fourth lawyer was stated to be in critical condition till the filing of this news. The police had described the act as target killing and said the attackers were riding motorcycles and had followed the lawyers from the city court.
Following the incident IHC Bar Association President Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar called a complete strike to condemn the brutal killing of the lawyers. While addressing the general body meeting, he urged the lawyers to protest across the country against the brutal act.
Talking with Pakistan Today, Gujjar said the murder of the lawyers was a part of a conspiracy against the judiciary. “The legal community has shown its full support to judiciary and such killings seem to be a part of a conspiracy to create fear among the legal community,” he added.
