Worth of human life

At a time when the Pakistani nation is passing through trauma of loosing precious Pakistani genius, the youngest Microsoft Engineer Arfa Kareem Randhawa, every passing day brings some more wounds and cuts to add salt to our festering injuries.

First, we have seen the selfishness, apathy and indifference of our state and government in the wake of providing a suitable treatment to Arfa Kareem Randhawa while keeping in view the seriousness and urgency of sufferings as well as the preciousness and worth of her life. Now the images published in national dailies of mourning relatives over the deaths of some heart patients caused by spurious medicine is another plume into hat of people holding sway over the helm of affairs.

The sorry state of affair has gone to such lows that number of such deaths, caused by the use of suspected medicine, rose to 72 till Tuesday since the incidence of reaction to suspected drugs surfaced. We are pretty sure that the will leave no stone unturned to hush up the incident and they will dole out a handsome amount from national kitty to sooth the relatives. What I would request is that instead of using our crumbling economy, it would be better that our leaders take pains to develop a setup and system where irresponsible and criminals have no chance to get away with for playing with innocent lives.
