Opposition says CM directly responsible

The issue of ‘killing medicines’ at Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) once again remained hot topic at Punjab Assembly on Tuesday and the Opposition demanded of the Punjab chief minister to resign immediately and that an FIR be registered against him for negligence. The session started with a delay of one hour 55 minutes with Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal in chair. The speaker also announced of issuing development funds to the Opposition, which walked out of the House on Monday due to non-issuance of development funds.
The opposition lashed out at the government in general and at Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif in particular for showing criminal negligence and causing deaths of innocent people by distributing substandard medicines at PIC. As soon, the session started Opposition members like Shaukat Basra, Ashraf Sohna, Seemal Kamran and Seemina Khawar Hayyat sought a point of order from the speaker. The opposition members while teasing CM Shahbaz Sharif said he was not a CM of London or Berlin rather he is responsible for the affairs of Punjab. “Morally, the Punjab CM was bound to come to the House and inform the members about the medicine, which killed many people,” said the opposition adding Punjab CM consider his disgrace to appear in the House.
