Appreciating the services of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) during its Hajj operation 2011, Saudi Arabian government has given certificate of appreciation to the national flag carrier.
Although during the year 2011, PIA administration demonstrated a total mismanagement of affairs as mostly international and domestic flights were delayed for hours and largely resented by the masses in the country.
Several flights were cancelled during the pre hajj operation. Overall performance showed during this hajj operation stated that no homework was done for hajj but in contrary to that Saudi government has given the certificate of appreciation to PIA.
In this certificate, it has been written that “PIA is one of the major airlines among all who operated for King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah during hajj operation 2011. Performance of PIA remained the best among major carriers in all areas especially regularity, arrangements, flight information and passengers handling, this high level of performance can only be achieved by strong competent leadership and team work shown by PIA. We hope for the same level of performance in future.”

  1. We should not turn blind eye if someone has done good.It is true that there has been genuine criticism against PIA during Huj seaon and Haji's were put to lot of inconvenience but even then they transported Haji's over 1.3 million.

Saudi Arabia has compared PIA with other lines who were engaged in Huj operation.Under the circumstances PIA deserves pat and they should put in more hard work to ensure minimum delays and cancellation of flights. For that they must buy new planes.Well done PIA

    • not only operation, every segment of pia put their maximum efforts. Allah bless pia and her devoted employees. ameen ………
