Faisal appears in PWD case

Federal Minister of Housing and Works Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat on Tuesday appeared before the IHC in a petition filed against him by a civil engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) Muhammad Fayaz for not reinstating him even after the passing of his suspension period. The minister informed the single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddique the said person had been reinstated by his ministry but was transferred to Quetta.
“I have an authority to form a policy and the petitioner was also transferred under the policy introduced in this regard,” said Faisal, adding that the ministry was competent authority to transfer its employees to any city according to the rules and court may also not interfere in the ministry’s policies. Fayaz was serving in Pak PWD as civil engineer. He was suspended for three months upon initiation of a departmental inquiry against him, but was not reinstated after the three months suspension period had passed. After facing reluctance of authorities to reinstate him, he moved the IHC against Secretary Housing Kamran Lashari and PWD Director General Gulab Zameer.
