Zahid Hussain Bukhari, the counsel for former ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani, said that Mansoor Ijaz, despite promising twice, has ridiculed the commission by not appearing before it.
Talking to media persons outside Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Tuesday, Zahid Hussain Bukari ruled out the possibility for the Memogate Commission to go abroad to record the statement of Mansoor Ijaz.
The court and commission do not visit the persons to record statements or hear viewpoints, but witnesses and accused have to appear before them, he said.
He asserted that said there was no justification in recording Mansoor Ijaz’s statement abroad, adding he will ask the commission to forfeit his right to testify him.
Bukhari maintained that Attorney General of Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq had told that military was in contact for Ijaz’s security.
He also said that he will approach the Supreme Court if not satisfied with the commission’s orders in this regard.
