World number two Petra Kvitova will lead holders Czech Republic in the Fed Cup first round tie against Germany in Stuttgart on February 4-5, the CTK news agency said Saturday. Team captain Petr Pala also named world number 46 Iveta Benesova, Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova (49) and Lucie Hradecka (51) for the tie. “I saw them all, I talked to them all, and I decided according to their current form,” the agency quoted Pala as saying at the Australian Open, where both Kvitova and Benesova have reached the fourth round. The Czechs beat Russia 3-2 in Moscow last November to win their first Fed Cup trophy since their country split with Slovakia.
