I fled Pakistan to escape ISI abduction: Farahnaz

Farahnaz Isphahani, wife of former Pakistani ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani, on Sunday said she had left Pakistan for her safety.
Talking to a British reporter on Sunday, Farahnaz said had she not left Pakistan, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) might have abducted her to put pressure on her husband, Husain Haqqani.

    • Yes ISI is noble and looking after national security interests more than any one else. The reason for that is that they have the requisite capability to uncover the truth.

      She should stay in Pakistan and face the problem her husband is facing. If his conscious is clear he should not worry about it. I know justice in Pakistan is a hard commodity but why did't they change it when they were in a position to dispense it for the benefit of others. "only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches". Watch how compassionately they are defending Pakistan – trying to smooth out rise of public sentiment against Pakistan ISI's involvement in terror act became public knowledge.

  23. Farahnaz did a sensible thing. ISI is butcher. There are so many missing persons and all of them were picked up by ISI. This organisation has done immense harm. After all, this is what their new found love Mansoor Ijaz has been saying since decades.

  29. My sympathies with the lady whose husband's civil rights have been ignored and due process of law not applied. Guilty or innocent he has been deprived of his full rights as a citizen, he has been victimised.
    Please remember that he is presumed innocent – or has the mindless mob of bloodthirsty "Hyper Patriotic" maniacs decided that Mr Mansour is telling the truth and that Pakistan's ambassador is lying whatever the two inquiry commissions find?
    The ISI operates above the law, it has been suspected of murdering civilian journalists, tapping judges phones, being involved in terrorism abroad. Why is it so difficult to comprehend that a civilian being attacked by military bigwigs would feel insecure because of the ISI?

    • The lady and her husband are not innocent people. This hue and cry which they are raising is primarily aimed at saving the skin of her husband who has been caught on ythe wrong foot.

      • Do you hold our judiciary and Parliament in such contempt that you are unwilling to wait to find whether they say which party is guilty? The counter accusation is that this is a sting or wrongful entrapment – if aimed at undermining a legitimate government – treason.
        As far as I know Mrs Isfahani has not even been accused of any wrongdoing unless you have new evidence?

  38. She is respected grand daughter of Pakistan Movement veteran Late Mr. Isphahani, who was a friend of Quaid-e-Azam and had donated his property (Pakistan House) to Pakistan Govt to house Pakistan Embassy in Washington USA in 1947. She is a patriotic Pakistani.

    • Another relation. Her mother was a close and common freind of (Late) Begum Nusrat Bhutto and (Late) mother of President Asif Ali Zardari. And she was the one who mediated for BB-Zardari marriage.
