Despite the lapse of a couple of weeks, the city police are still clueless about the robbers who looted citizens in two separate broad-daylight robbery strikes in the federal capital.
On January 52,011, three unidentified robbers looted a travel agency in one of the city’s busiest commercial centres.
They had stormed Al-noor Travel Agency in Blue Area. After taking the staff hostage at gunpoint, they looted Rs 400,000. The owner of the travel agency, Zia Ahmed, got a case registered against unidentified robbers with the Kohsar police. However, the police have so far failed to find any clue and arrest the robbers. Talking to Pakistan Today, Investigation Officer Fazal Khaliq said, “So far we have no idea about the dacoits. We are trying our best to find any lead,” he added.
In another daylight robbery, a few days ago, four robbers looted Rs 1.5 million from the cashier of a private company at gunpoint in the area of Industrial Area police station. They intercepted a vehicle of Shan Marketing Company and snatched Rs 1.5 million from the cashier sitting in vehicles and fled from the scene. In this case, the police did nothing instead of registration of an FIR. “There has been no significant development in the case so far, however, we are trying to arrest the robbers,” said SI Ahmed Kamal of Industrial Area police station, who is Investigating the case. Meanwhile, car theft cases are also on the rise in the city. During the last four days, three cars were reportedly stolen in the vicinity of Industrial Area and Kohsar police stations. Kohsar police on Friday lodged an FIR against unidentified car lifters.
