28 held; arms, liquor seized

Rawalpindi police have arrested 28 outlaws and seized 1,270 bottles of liquor, 2,260 grams of charras, six 30-bore pistols with 42 rounds, three 32-bore revolvers with three bullets and Rs 5450 cash.
Rawat police arrested Nisar and recovered 1,250 bottles of liquor while other accused identified as Numan, Sajid, Sohaib, Adil, Ali, Qamar-ur-Rehman, Qamar Khan, Zeeshan, Waqas, Aftab, Asif, Iqbal, Akram, Qasir, Nadeem, Shakeel, Taimur and others were sent behind the bars for keeping illegal weapons and drugs. Separate cases have been registered against the accused while investigations are underway.
SSP holds open Kutcheri: On the special directives of the Punjab chief minister and inspector general of police, the Rawalpindi SSP (operations) held an open kutcheri here on Saturday at Waris Khan police station to provide relief to the citizens. On the applications of the citizens, the SSP issued special instructions for legal action. He also suspended Airport Police Station Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Nasir for not registering a case on the application of Muhammad Ibrahim.
