Sindh National Movement chief Ali Hassan Chandio has criticised the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s move to present a bill on forming new provinces through referendum in the National Assembly. MQM has demanded in its bill to amend the Constitution for creating new provinces in the country.
Speaking at a press conference, Chandio, flanked by SNM leaders Aijaz Samtio, Qasim Chandio and Aziz Phul, said Sindh had joined Pakistan in 1947 under an agreement. Therefore, he added, the boundaries of the province are sacred and no one could change them in any manner.
He said after the creation of the “fascist MQM”, many conspiracies have been hatched against the country, especially against Sindh, and a true son of the soil would not remain silent on the issue.
Chandio claimed that the MQM has always sided with dictators, and with this new move of presenting the bill, the party’s real face has been exposed before the people of Sindh.
He said he wants to invite the Urdu-speaking community to become a part of the Sindhi nation, and anyone living in Sindh conspiring against the province should immediately go back to India or anywhere else in the world, because Sindh is for Sindhis only.
He warned the Pakistan People’s Party leadership and nationalist parties that have a “soft corner for the MQM” to raise their voices against the MQM’s “anti-Sindh move”, or else they would be treated as “traitors” as well.
