A 30-year-old man was found hanging dead from tree near the Shaheedan shrine in the Batapur Police Station precincts on Friday. The locals of the Pasin Road, Bamban Shaheedan found the body hanging with a tree and informed the police. The police said that the body was a day old and only a chit was found from the pocket of the deceased, with name Miftaah Rehman and an address of Upper Dir written on it. The police shifted the body to morgue and no heirs were found despite announcements.
Car set ablaze: Unidentified persons set a car ablaze after a failed attempt of car lifting in the Sherakot Police Station precincts on Friday. The car (LZE-8300) of Mian Altaf was parked outside his home in Jafria Colony where some car lifters tried to take the vehicle with them but on failure, they set it on fire and escaped. Upon receiving information, the police and fire fighters reached the spot. The police have started investigation in the matter.
Man shoots himself, brother-in-law: A man shot injured himself and his brother-in-law over a domestic dispute in the Shahdra Town Police Station precincts on Friday. According to details, Fayyaz, a resident of Main Bazar Shahdra Town, had an argument with his wife and over interference by his brother-in law Aijaz, he opened fire on him. The assailant later shot himself also to evade any blame. The police reached the spot on receiving information and registered a case against Fayyaz, on the complaint of Aijaz.
Man commits suicide: Three persons, including a woman, died in separate incidents in Lahore on Friday. Aijaz, a father of four children and resident of Ghazi Abad, committed suicide by taking poison. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
Two killed in accidents: Meanwhile in two separate traffic accidents at Kahna and Ferozpur Road, 45-year-old Abdullah and 42-year-old Raheela were crushed by speeding vehicles and succumbed to the injuries when taken to hospital.
Student traffic scouts: The City Traffic Police distributed cash prizes on Friday amongst three students for performing duties of traffic scouts voluntarily with the traffic wardens. Chief Traffic Officer Syed Mubeen Ahmad appreciated the performance of the students and expressed satisfaction on the current situation of traffic outside educational institutions.
