Gambler goes wild after suffering loss

After facing loss in the illegal business of ‘parchi juwa’ (a form of gambling), a constable of Islamabad police snatched his partner’s car and motorcycle, despite agreeing to share the loss and profit equally.
The incident came into light on Friday when Murad Ali and his wife visited SP City office and reported that Constable Irfan Mahmood invested Rs 0.2 million in 2008 with them for running parchi juwa in F/10 Markaz, but he snatched their car and motorcycle and after facing loss in the business.
The said constable is currently deputed at Kohsar Police Station. Parchi juwa is a gambling providing the people an opportunity to try their luck either to become millionaire or empty pocket through prize bonds numbers.
In their application, the couple contended that initially their business run well and they earned handsome profit, but they gradually suffered loss amounting to Rs 0.5 million.
“Now, our partner started demanding return of Rs 0.2 million and upon he snatched their cab bearing number VRC 2577 and a motorcycle refusal.”
The couple further maintained that the said police official was threatening them of dire consequences and demanded registration of FIR against the accused.
The SP City Office marked the Murad’s application to DSP City for conducting an inquiry.
When contacted, the said constable said, “Yes, I impounded the car and motorcycle of Murad. I had given them a loan of Rs 0.2 million as he was facing loss in their business. When I asked him to return the money, he along with his wife started visiting police officers, seeking registration of case against me.”
When asked why he invested for illegal activity, the cop innocently said that he was not aware the nature of business.
