The Jamshed Quarters Crime Investigation Agency claimed to have arrested a torture-cell operator from Pak Colony with weapons in his possession. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mumtaz Magsi said the accused Zeeshan Ali alias Akhrot was taken into custody after an encounter in Gutter Baghicha, but two of his accomplices – Iqbal Mandela and Anwar Kojak – escaped from the scene. Magsi said Ali belonged to a drug-pushing group and was involved in the murders of over 20 people at his torture cell in Pak Colony’s Ayesha Manzil. He said police have initiated further investigation and suspect that Ali might have connections with Lyari’s gangsters as well.
