Police on Thursday claimed to have foiled a major terror bid by defusing two explosive devices recovered from a school here in Dera Ismail Khan.
According to police officials, some unidentified miscreants overnight locked the school’s security guard in a room and planted two time bombs weighing 20kg each in two separate rooms of a private school located at Draban Road, in Dera Ismail Khan.
When the teachers arrived at the school on Thursday morning, they found the guard missing and found the two bombs placed in two ghee canisters.
The bomb disposal squad (BDS) was soon called in and it successfully defused the explosive devices.
The security guard was also recovered unhurt from a room.
